The technology solution

A solution that uses drones to fly over forests and measure tree biomass. With this data it calculates the amount of CO2 stored and issues secure, tamper-proof carbon certificates to drive reforestation after wildfires.

Technology stack: Drones (LiDAR, IoT, multispectral), Artificial Intelligence / Computer Vision, Blockchain, Territorial Digital Twin.

Further information

It includes a control panel (dashboard) to check forest indices and survey the land remotely.

Funding

DRONFORE is being developed by a consortium with support from the Industria Innova grant of the Galician Institute for Economic Promotion (Igape), co-financed by the European Union. These grants promote industrial research, experimental development and process and organisational innovation projects, to create new products and services and boost the sustainability and competitiveness of Galician industry.
